WOW! What an opening day! Everything was absolutely perfect; from the gorgeous weather to the immaculate vendor booths, family fun activities, and of course…who doesn’t enjoy a free lunch?! It took me a few days to recover but it was totally worth every second! Almost every vendor had a record-breaking day, and with between 1,500-2,000 guests visiting we officially set a record attendance for our market (this is the first of many we will have this year)! Originally we expected approximately 500-1,000 people to join us. Our community came out in full force Saturday morning and knocked those expectations out of the water, it was phenomenal (I may have even shed a tear of joy)!

We were able to raise a little over $300 for our market budget by hosting three raffles. We were also able to give away over $1,300.00 in donated prizes to more than 40 lucky individuals who attended our community kickoff day! We had some great live performances from some of our local artists, and even a few cartoon characters made a grand appearance for photos with the kiddos. I truly believe everyone, vendors and guests alike, had a wonderful time at our 2021 Tontitown Farmers’ Market Community Kickoff event and we couldn’t be happier about it.

We do hope you will plan to attend the market every Saturday from 8-2 at the Harry Sbanotto Park. Currently there are not a lot of vegetables ready, so if you are looking for fresh veggies like lettuce, carrots, spinach, etc., I encourage you to come out early. Our fresh produce vendors sold out fast last Saturday, and I am pretty sure that will be the trend. We can’t wait to see you!

We are still accepting vendor applications, and could certainly use 4-5 more produce vendors. With our produce vendors selling out so fast on Saturday, there is definitely a need there for more produce vendors to join us. You can find the application by going to our Farmers’ Market page here.  There you will find a copy of Arkansas’ Cottage laws and guidelines, and an application. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the Cottage laws if you want to sell edible items. You can print the application, fill it out and bring it to the Tontitown City Hall, or save it to your computer, fill it out, and email it back to the email listed on the form.

Thanks for making our 2021 Opening Day a success!
